Backup failed due to network path

  • Hi All

    Iam new bee to sql server.i want to learn to the most good leavel.so plz help me out experts.iam having huge number of douts to work in a real time enviroment.

    1Q.How and where should i find out if there is Backup failed due to network path and how should i resolve it.

    2Q.If there is a backup failed issue due to diskfull (due to .trn) full.so where should i go and delete these files.

    3Q.Backup failed due to tape drive not available for this kind of issues where should i go and find out it is due to tape not available.

    4Q..If there is a backup failed issue due to diskfull .so where should i go and use shrink db to free some space is this method sutable to do or is there any other way to do .

    plz dont mind to answer these question i know iam gwasteing ur time because these r the silly dout for u(Experts).i will be very greate full to if u can provide me the answere with navigation

  • We're happy to help, but having all of these scenarios sounds more like an interview issue than one at work. I'm confused as to why you'd have tape and network backups going.

    The recommendation is to back up to local disks since if there is any network hiccup, the backup fails.

    The logs are almost always your first stop to find out the specific error, and then you'd go research things in Books Online.
