  Hello -

  When I open RS Config Manager I receive the following error, "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupted." The articles I found on this on MSFT relate the problem to having Excel 2007 installed. I do not have office installed on my server. My server is a VM running on VMware ESX VI3 . The guest has been allocated 4 GB of memory. Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a very similar problem. Guest VM is running Windows Server 2003 R2 64-bit and SQL Server 2005 32-bit.

  I receive the "Attempted to read or write protected memory" error at times and the RS service restarts periodically for no particular reason.
