Hi experts - I would like to be able to either:

    a) remotely access a server from my iPhone 4S

    OR

    b) find an app that will enable me to restart a failed job and some of the tasks you can do in Managment Studio

    Thanks for any tips.

Maybe not what you're looking for, but I've used both splashtop and logmein to remote from my phone to my laptop, I'd use that to turn on my VPN, connect to the server and restart the job. It was a few extra hops, but it did what you're asking.

Ooohh, Splashtop on an iphone?! Don't know but I got pretty fat fingers... I'd end up shutting down the server instead of logging off! 😀

    I laughed out loud, thanks.

I'm actually one of those rare birds who doesn't even answer my phone while driving.

Thanks to everyone who tossed out an idea. Now I'll do some research.

I have been curious about this too, but in my case I have an Android phone.

I have an Android as well. I use splashtop and LogMeIn...

preference to logmein for computer to computer and splashtop for phones/tablets... but that's preference only. both work. logmein works great to fix grandmas computer as well.
