Anonymous Access in Reports/IIS settings

  • ( I am sorry if some of you have already seen this in other topic of this forum, I just want to get as many response as I could, at the same time I am very sure that I am not miscategorizing by overposting)

    So, here is the scenario.....

I have a Report which (of course) I display in a Report Manager. The report is developed by some expert developer and it is working fine, just like what my clients wish to see. Everything was going so fine.

    The problem......

All of a sudden, when anybody (us and/or clients) wants to view the report, a pop up prompting for login and password appear. What I did to fix this temporary was to enable the anonymous access in the IIS settings. The problem was solved. But, I definately know this is NEVER a good solution. I have to uncheck the anonymous access away so that only certain client can see certain report. But if I do that, the prompt will come back again. It should work like before......

What is the cause? what was the problem? Anybody know? Am I right about the anonymous access? Is there any report or IIS expert out there to help me fix this issue?

Don't cross post. All you're doing is fragmenting replies and wasting people's time. Many of us read all the forums.
