Analysis Manager - error when 'Browsing data'

    I have just installed Analysis Manager, and worked through the tutorial creating my first cube.

    However when I come to browse data - I get Initializing then

    'Unable to browse the cube 'Sales' Unspecified error.

    I have completed the 'Design Storage' step, and tested the ODBC connection is good

    I also get this error when I try to browse any of the sample cubes provided.

    I am running on Windows 2000 m/c and also have SQL Server installed on my machine.

    Any ideas ?

    Hi,

    i had the same problem. I had to load SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1 before I could browse the data.

    Have you got SP1 Loaded?

    Thanks for your reply - and sorry for the delay in answering (we had a Bank Holiday over here !!)

    I have SP2 loaded on my machine (I assume it includes all the fixes for SP1)

    Version shows '8.00.608 (SP2)' when I show the server properties.

    I have also checked who the MSSQLServerOLAPService logs on as and made sure it is my account (same as MSSQL Server)

    Anybody got any other ideas ?

    I just reinstalled SP2 and have solved the problem.

    My SP2 was installed before Analysis Manager
