An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

  • I can't run any query in ssms for sql server 2008 on my server. I restarted the service hoping to release some memory but I still get the same error. I try to select top 1000 from a table and get the error. How do I fix this?

  • pretty sure that error is client-side error from ssms, and not a sql server error.

is your script pretty large? does it not have GO statements between some of the blocks of relative batches?

you want to either insert GO statements, or runt he script from sqlcmd instead of SSMS.
