Hi,
I installed SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services, which includes the Business Intelligence for reporting services, on wibdows XP SP3.
I added a data source and connection is succesful. When I create a new data set, I got an error "An error occurred while connection to data source 'xxx'. Only the text based query designer will be available. The Details for the error is "A nerwork-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The Server was not found or was not accessible. Verify the instance name is correct and that SQL server is configured to allow remote connections, (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server).
What is my problem? I don't use remote connection and connection in data source is OK, but not data set.
Can someone help?
Regards Xin

Hi,
I found the problem. It seems I have to restart SQL server or Visual Studio in order to get the connections.
Regards
Xin
