AlwaysOn and Cluster Problem : Disk Vanishes after Node reboot

  • Hi All,

I have situation on SQL Server 2016 with windows server 2012, there was a successfully failover cluster between NODE1 and NODE2 and also AlwaysOn (it is test enviorment).

Problem is that after a reboot of NODE1, the disk which have participated under disk section they are completely offline, and I am unable to bring them up.

    Tried with :

1.Validation of cluster – only disk problems

-> No disks were found on which to perform cluster validation tests.

    2. Adding NODE2 back to cluster : Still all disks are offline

    3. Referred - https://www.sqlservercentral.com/blogs/availability-groups-where-did-my-disks-go

    -still no luck

    4. Tried disk to bring online it says :

    - > the specified disk or volume is managed by the microsoft failover clustering component. the disk must be in cluster maintenance mode and the cluster resource status must be online.

    5. On both NODES all of the drives are vanished, but they are still there but in offline state

Failover cluster manager - "disks" - their current owner is NODE2

    Can anyone guide me?

    Thank You!

  • we ended up with new setup.

    Thank you.
