Is it possible to create an alert in Maintenance plan.

Yes thats possible you can add an alert in you MP to say if that has got succeed or failed.

Is there something in particular you want to check? The maintenance plan runs as a job, which can be set to alert you on success and/or failure.

Created a job for the maintenance plan and alert is made to email id but am not getting any alert.I have given the option after completion of maintenance plan the alert has to be send whether its a success or failure.

Have you enabled DBMail and configured it with a default account?
