Agents in SQL Server

  • Hi all,

What all agents are available in SQL Server 2012 and is there any agent added / deprecated from earlier versions !!!

    Thanks.

  • You're going to need to be more specific.

SQL Server comes with a process called SQL Agent which is used for scheduling jobs, setting up alerts and other things. That is the one "agent" I know of. There are some other things could be construed as "agents" such as replication's distributor, SSIS, SSRS. But these are not referred to as "agents" but instead as services. So I'm not sure what you're going for.
