After applying SP3 Mgt Studio will not allow Activity Monitor to run

    I have a SQL 2012 Std Edition. Just applied SP3 and Management Studio on the server is fine opening up and navigating Activity monitor. However, on my PC when I open up Activity Monitor in Mgt Studio 2012 I get this error:

    Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) (mscorlib)

    I also right clicked on Mgt Studio and said run as Admin with same issue.

    Any thoughts?

    Update on another SQL Server that is running SQL2012 CU7 I get the same error as above... but on another that is running SQL2012 CU7 Activity monitor opens.... Go figure

    Just a thought as I haven't upgraded to SP3 yet. Have you run the SP3 installer on your PC to apply any fixes and patches to the local SSMS install?

    You know.. I thought about that.... I did restart my PC and Activity monitor, for both instances now works... very bizzare.
