Adding linked servers in different domains.......

    I am able to add linked servers in the same domain........But i encountered some OLEDB error creating linked servers in diffrenet domains ant idea hou to implement this .....

    Make sure you can ping it from the "linking from" server. It's most likely a switch or firewall problem.

    I've also foun one that using the ip adress was working while the servername was failing. I.m usre it's a network issue but I never pursued that one.

    you also need to check security. There should be a trust issue between domains, or make sure you qualify accounts.

    Or is this SQL authentication?

    If you post the exact error, we might be able to help more.
