Hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows if I can include a global variable as part of a DTS data pump.
To set the scene. On a daily basis we get a file from our mainframe guys that holds a list of ID numbers. The file name is the date the list was extracted from the mainframe.
We would like to have the date the IDs where extracted, as well as the IDs themselves, imported into our table.
I can pickup the file and store it's date easily enough, but how do I include that date in the transformation task?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Phill

If this is SQL 2000, you can use the Dynamic Properties task to change the data pump.
