Yes that's right Extended Support ended months ago. Lets not lower the standard of SQL Server Central articles by publishing old stuff that is no longer relevant.

So a better article would guiding them how to upgrade and do this on a supported platform.

Why do you think this post degraded the reputation of SQLServer central. I have seen many clients still using windows server 2003.
