Access F/E to SQL Server: Netherlands, Comma decimal point misunderstood for money/currency fields

  • Hi All,

    Windows Server 2008

    SQL Server 2008

    Windows XP

    MS Access 2003

Our app has an MS Access front-end to a SQL Server back-end. The client is in Holland. Regional Settings on the Windows Server are set to English US. Regional Settings on the Windows Client are set to Dutch (Netherlands). A form that displays invoices has a Money field from SQL Server bound to the form via a query that is the Record Source. In our test environment it works fine and displays amounts in Euros with the correct currency formatting, e.g. € 10.000,01 for an amount of 10000.01

However, at the clients site 10.000,01 is converted to €10

i.e. the comma decimal point is being misunderstood despite the Regional Settings on the Windows Client at the client's site.

    What are we missing ?

    TIA,

    J

  • Are the patch levels of Access 2003 the same?

Is the application run on the local computer or is it virtualized (Terminal Server, Citrix,...)?

    *have a look at

    http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS_Access/Q_25175987.html

  • Will check patch levels.

Not run in virtual environment. Fat Clients connecting direct to the server.

The link in Experts Exchange is interesting but I'm not sure how I would implement the proposed solution - at them moment we simply use a simple bound form. How should we change this to take account of the EE discussion ?

    Thanks,

    J
