A.I. is an incredible coding companion for any seasoned DBA. You already understand indexes, pages, fragmentation, and all the other aspects of SQL and relational databases. It is time now for you to let your new companion do the grunt work.
You have a busy database system that is chugging? Ask the A.I. to write a query to examine the query store on each database and show you what is happening.
You inherited a reporting stored procedure that takes hours to run? Feed they query to the A.I and ask it to break it apart and make it better.
Get the A.I. to generate queries against the myriad of DM views to help you troubleshoot those emails.
Yes you can do all this yourself, but with A.I. you can do MORE. Magnify your own powers.

At work, it isn't that I don't want to use AI. It's the fact that the CISO will not let us use AI. And since his number one rule is to be obscure and never communicate with others, I have no idea what in heck the issue is.
At least at home I can experiment with AI.

You need a new job. There are always Luddites and those who want to stick with what they know and are comfortable with. It's not wrong, but it can be quite short sighted.
