Hi All,
Following by recent pass on 70-431 I am moving onto the above exam. Again I have stuck with the transcender software coupled with the MS self paced training kit that worked so well last time out.
I am familiar with the format that this exam follows with the case studies followed by questions.
I wanted to know who has taken the test and if they could highlight the similarities and differences between the 70-431 and 70-442. Any revision techniques you could share would also be greatly appreciated.
I was wondering if anyone has used the MCITP study guide for this exam by Marilyn Miller-White (Author), Christian Leftner (Author)

I am really interested into how good these books are as I have not been greaty impressed by the MS training kits.

I have just bought the ms press self paced study book for 70-442. I am using the sybex book for the 70-441 exam by Isakov and the is nice to read. I chose to go for the ms press book to see the different editorial techniques.
So if sybex is following its editorial line for the 70-442 as they did for 70-441, the book should be ok.

I wrote it on friday. Didn't use any study guide, company paid for the course.
I took the 431 exam befor the simulations were added, but even comparing to that, the exams are very different. The case studies take a bit of reading and the answers are often very similar. If you don't know your stuff backwards, you are going to have trouble with this.
The exam pretty much covers my job responsibilities and I struggled with it a bit.
Bledu, be careful. The 441 book by Isakov is full of errors and doesn't cover the material properly. I would strongly suggest, having used the same book and written that exam, get another reference. Take a look at the reviews the book has on amazon. I'm not the only one who had a problem with it.

Gail, can I ask if you passed the exam? I'm assuming you find out there and then as you do with 70-431?
As for the book, sounds like it isn't so great after all...if anyone was does use books that are better than the training kit I would be interested to know what they are?

I passed. Got 880. You get the results and the section breakdown straight after, same for all the MS exams.
As for the book, sounds like it isn't so great after all
I can't say anything about the 442 book. I didn't use it and don't own it. Check the amazon reviews. Might give you an idea.
It's the book for 441 that I had a big problem with.

I use amazon.com. I tend to be cautious of any IT book with less than 4 stars.

After successfully passing this exam a couple of months ago I now have the self paced training kit for 70-442 up for sale if anyone is interested?
