Hi all,
We have noticed that there appears to be no 64-bit version of the file: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.dll" ("SQL Server Spatial Types Assembly").
There is a 32-bit version in %Program Files(x86) %\Microsoft SQL Server\100\SDK\Assemblies
One of our developers is adamant that he needs the 64-bit version in order to run an app that he is writing.
I can't seem to find the 64-bit equivalent in any Microsoft download.
Can anybody help shed light on this?
Thanks,
Nick

I believe this is available as part of the SQL Native Client x64 package -

Hi Tommy,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, we already have that installed on this server and the correct library doesn't seem to be in there.

Two things either your developer is confused or your employer did not buy VS2008 standard and above for the developer because the spartial types are .NET types. So the developer can build AnyCPU instead of x64 and the code will run in x64. Send the developer these links and there is Microsoft provided code at codeplex the site is down for maintenance so check back later.

Hi,
Thanks for your info! I will pass it on to the developer in question and see how he gets on.

Nick
