My SQL Agent 2012 log file is being filled with messages that say "Reloading agent settings". What does this mean and how do I stop it? Some jobs did not run last night and I don't know if this is just a coincidence or is a cause.

I remember this one vaguely - it was a bug in SQL Agent. There were fixes people posted to change the refresh setting in the registry but Microsoft had a KB article warning people not to do that and to apply a patch, CU or whatever it was. It used to be listed on their connect site and I can't find it since the moved things to Voices but I would at least check whatever Service pack, patch level you are on and make sure to get current on those.
