I have to upgrade SP3 for sql 2008 64bit stand alone server.
Does the windows server need a reboot? is it a must?
Is there any do's/don'ts that I need to be aware. Please share your experience.
Regards,SQLisAwe5oMe.

If at all possible I would bounce the server after an SP update. Do make sure you take full backups prior to it, and have a backup plan in case things go wrong.
