I recently upgraded a customer DB from 2000 to 2005. Some users are still using query analyzer to connect to new instances. In the 200 instances the Object Search works fine and the users permissions are either read or read/write - no ddl. But for the new 2005 instance the object search is asking them to install and then it says they don't have permsision. the permissions are identical to what they have in 2000. I created a test user with admin priv, running the install sp_MSObjsearch and then switching it back to just read/write and it still won't let the user run the object search in 2005. The users really want this functionality.
Anyone seen this before?
