    SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY CustomerID) AS SerialNo,

    CustomerId,

    CustomerName

    FROM dbo.CustMaster

    But, I agree with the others... what are you going to use it for? The answer to that question could make a huge difference.
