I am applying for a job at another company. They want me to do a short phone interview, and hopefully in person later. The position I'm applying for is an SSIS developer. I have about five years experience with SSIS/SSRS, and another ten years with writing SQL queries / views / stored procedures. I am not a DBA, just an ETL developer.
When it comes to that time in the interview where the manager asks "Do you have any questions for me?"... what would you ask your potential new boss?

It's really hard to say from the outside. I asked things like what I could expect my first month in the role to involve, and that went down very well and gave us more to talk about.
I'd stay away from asking about salary and benefits etc. at this stage. Well, in the UK I would. It might be different elsewhere. Good luck.

1. What version of SQL Server do they have?
2. Do they have dev, test environment?
3. What version manager they use?
4. Besides SSIS, what other ETL tools they use?
5. Size of dev team.
6. Do they have formal QA procedure? What bug tracking tool they use?
7. Do they practice night calls to developers when packages fail in production?
8. Where they store packages: in file system or inside SQL Server?
9. Do they wrap packages in solutions?
10. What other systems besides SQL Server packages or solutions interact with?
