I used the info etc from the website as the basis for my study. A lot of the links also have other related references and I also went to those as well. This gave me quite a broad range of information to digest. It also helps if you actually have a SQL Server installation that you can use to try out what you are reading. I find that using the commands etc as I go is a good way to reinforce my learning.

I did not use any exams that come with the various learning materials from MS-press etc. I was actually prepared to fail the exam on my first attempt because MS was offering a free re-sit (I think that offer ended on 31 May) - if I failed, then I would have used a self paced training guide. As it happens, I passed first time.
