Please help me , i am very new comer to sql server.

  • I am new to programming and want to learn and use sql server 2000. I have installed it on my computer. But as compare to other softwares as ms access and frontpage etc this software is looking very difficult to use. I can not do any thing in sql server 2000. I want to know that how i can start using. I have some concepts of sql language but where to write statements of sql in sql server. Is their any website on internet which gives free and easy tutorial to start using sql server 2000. Thanks.

  • Click on the Windows START button... open "ALL PROGRAMS" or some such.  Find the Microsoft SQL Server folder and click on it... find the QUERY ANALYZER icon and click on it.  In the menu, click on HELP and then on Transact-SQL Help (this is also known as Books Online).

Most SQL tutorials I've seen are just for rank beginners and usually have nothing to do with how to run SQL Server... you might want to go buy a book on the subject.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
