Using CREATE ALIAS and SELECT together

I'm attemping to access a specific file member with the CREATE ALIAS command and then using the alias in my SELECT statement. The error I'm getting states that the SELECT keyword is not expected. End of statement is expected. Is there a delimiter I'm missing. Please help.

Aah, I see. I thought that it might be Analysis Services related, but then I saw you've posted it in the T-SQL section.

Have you accomplished this using Analysis Services? I'm at a loss as to how to break up the CREATE ALIAS and SELECT commands. If you have a general answer to that question, that should help! Thanks.

No, I just thought that it might be AS related, because I am not aware of CREATE ALIAS in T-SQL.
