PRoxy Account name on MSSQL 7

  • I can setup proxy accounts on 2000, but sql 7, I'm stuck. Can't find out what account it uses, or how to change it. Probably obvious, but I can find it.

  • A long time ago since I did this in SQL7...  I seem to recall that the account name is fixed, and must be CMDEXEC (or whatever).  BOL should have the details.

  • SQL Server generates the account and password, and you cannot set either.

The account is a local account on the SQL Server, and so is limited to access to the local server (unless SQL Server is on a domain controller).

You can get to the info in Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Agent properties.
