backup- Create a sub-directory for each database

  I have a mainetence plan doing the back up to a directory for example:

  H:\backup\Mydatabase\mydatabase.bak

  Now I would like to add an adhoc backup.

  So I created a new maintenance plan and only include the databases I need to backup.

  Then there is this check box for Create a sub-directory for each database.

  If the subdirectory already exists, will it delete it and recreate the folder.

  I don't want to do so, for I want to keep the older backups.

  No, it doesn't delete the old folder. It just creates it if it doesn't exist.

  But you can always do a test backup, then a second backup and see what happens.
