Reporting Services Unable to Export to PDF, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT in Clients

  • Hi,

I have installed in application with Reporting Services 2017 where there is a server and 4 client machines all part of a domain. In the server, when we generate reports and export to any file type (PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, XML, CSV, TIFF), it does this without issue, however in the Client Machines, it cannot export to PDF, Word, Excel & Powerpoint. It does export to the other file types without issue. In Chrome, it says "Failed - Network Error", in other browsers it does not work either.

In Internet Explorer, it claims that it is downloaded but the file is corrupt.

It was working for sometime and then it stopped working.

We have disabled the firewall and antivirus and still face the same issue. Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

    Regards,

  • Thanks for posting your issue and hopefully someone will answer soon.

This is an automated bump to increase visibility of your question.

  • I don't know what's causing the problem (although it may be "just" a missing driver on the app/client side) but my first thought is to get that firewall back up NOW! 😉

It could also be some type of 32 vs 64 bit connection setting even in this day and age.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
