SQL Server Standard Competencies

  • We want to hire people who have SQL Server skill, does anyone having standard competencies for SQL Server 2012 ?

  • I'm actually not a fan of the Microsoft Certifications, however, the skills they test actually provides a pretty good set of standards by which you could measure someone on their SQL Server skills. Here's a link to the tests. The core information will be in the first two.

If you feel that you don't have this knowledge in your organization, then I'd strongly suggest you hire a consultant just to do the interviews for you. Otherwise, you won't know if people are lying on their CV and during the interviews. I see that a lot.

For what?  System DBA, Application DBA, Database Developer, Database Architect, BI Architect, BI Developer, what?  What is the job description that you're trying to fill?

OMG!  The 98-364 exam still tests on Text, NText, and Image! Doesn't MS know they've deprecated it?

It's stupid stuff like this that makes me realize that I don't actually ever want to go for certification.
