service not running after upgrade

  • I recently upgraded sql server from 2005 to 2008R2. Every runs fine.

    SSIS runs fine too.

My network engineer got some information from some monitor network tool today:

    10.50.10.55-SNOCSQ11 - MSftesql (NTService : msftesql) DOWN since 9:26:09 PM, 4/11/2012

    10.50.10.55-SNOCSQ11 - DTS (NTService : MsDtsServer) DOWN since 8:42:31 PM, 4/11/2012

    What does this mean?

I see in service panel of the server intergration service is running, I didn't see a microsoft search service listed.

Could above two service are old from sql 2005, 2008 no longer use them?

    Thanks

  • Did you do your upgrade on the day that is referenced as the last day the services were running? Is everything running correctly now? Those would be my first 2 concerns before even worrying about if the services are deprecated.

    Yes, it is the day.

    Yes, everything runs fine.

  • I believe that dts is now MsDtsServer100 (10.0) and MsDtsServer110 (11.0). Full Text Indexing is MSSQLFDLauncher. So I think the monitor is looking for specific service names that have changed.
