can't see agent job properties

  • I am running SQL Server 2005 with SP4, and I am a am using sysadm account, I can create a run a job but can't scee the job name and properties.

I already run the regsvr32.exe dts.dll but still can not see the job. I can run it.

    I am running window 2003 SP2.

  • any idea please

  • Hi,

Is it possible that you have the SQLAgent down which wont allow you to view jobs in SSMS ?

In such a case you will be able to create Maintenance Plan (which has associated jobs) but not see the jobs created.

Can you post more on the issue and/or if any error seen at the time ?

    Thanks,

    Ninad Soman

  • Thanks for reply,

I have a same issue with Maintenance Plan too, first I have SP3 so I install SP4 but issue is stil there. it is not on work station i am working on server.

if you need any other information pl let me know Thanks

  • It can be a case of sp4 not applied properly..

When we apply sp4 it asks for the areas to which it should apply...

If u can remember were all areas selected?

  • Hi,

Can you check the installation summary file ?

You can find it probably at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix

also check if any error logged for SQL ..

  • Thanks for reply

I am RD to the server, so how to fix the problem

also i check the log only error I found is

Registry: Cannot read registry key value "PendingFileRenameOperations", error 1421

I no need to install NotificationServices servers

  • The only problem i guess is that the client components are installed after the sp2/sp3 installation..

Look out this forum...it should help u:--
