Some of our databases have chnaged there settings to growth by 6400 % ???

Not likely the database did it... either a human or some other program did it. Finding out what changed it will take some doing, though.
Should never grow by percent, by the way. Fixed size is better and you should plan it instead of just allowing it to happen.

If I remember correctly there is a bug in SQL 2005 somewhere that changes the growth to an unbelievable growth rate. I found this with one of our databases as well. I cannot remember the details though.
