[Newbie] Access denied on concurrent connection

  • Hello,

I'm pretty new to SqlServer 2000.  I have a database I'm designing in enterprise manager and I'm using Iron Speed Designer to throw together a test application.

If I'm connected to SqlServer thru Enterprise Manager, Iron Speed can't connect to read the db schema.  And vice versa.  I've checked the db properties and Single User is disabled.

    Thanks for any help,

    Cheers,

    .pd.

  • DO you get an error message? ANd have you tried connecting with QA to DB while in the DB in EM to see if it gives you issues querying the DB?

  • When I have the database connected in Iron Speed and I try to connect to the Sql server from EM, I get:

A connection could not be established to <server>\<sqlserver>

Reason: Sql server does not exist or access denied.  ConnectionOpen.Connect()

If I shut down Iron Speed, I can connect thru EM but then Iron Speed gives a similar error.

    Cheers,

    .pd.
