SCOPE_IDENTITY() error

  Hi,

  I am completely stuck with something like this :

  i am doing some insert statement then trying to update the identity index

  by using the SCOPE_IDENITY() function. But it continuously showing an error saying that

  default functions can't assign to local variables.

  Anybody having some fixes would be highly appreciated.

  I recommend that you post the code that's having the problem and the DDL for the target table.
