    Gosh... people write thousand page books on the subject. I'm sure folks will give you some hints but this is much to large a subject for a forum. My recommendation is that you buy one of those thousand page books and study it. If not, I'm sure there are some good blogs and white papers out there. My recommendation is to Google for it.

    p.s. If, as your subtitle to the post implies, this is only for log shipping, I recommend you start reading "Books Online" (the free help system that comes with SQL Server).

    As a side bar, if this is a bloody interview question, please spend some time finding your own answer or we get 10% of your first six month's pay if you get the job. 😉
