Uninstall SSMS from systems they are using :w00t:

You can make user the windows users don't have administrator privilege and make the USER ACCOUNT CONTROL High under System and Security.

Instead of giving Drive letter ie E in this case give the network path name ie \\servername\E$\path

Do you have any tables in Model Db. Check what all process using the database.

Someone might have accidentally pointed to this db instead of user db.
