you say that you are getting an Error, however the log entry you posted is a Warning and should not stop the data from loading.

I think that you would be better off comparing the execution plans for the worst performing queries between the two servers and start from there.

I find the easiest way is to create a ssis job to do the processing and then call this job from a stored proc.

it depends on what is an acceptable down-time for your business.
If they require near instance recovery then I would go for Mirroring / Clustering.

tables do not have an order, so the order you insert the data does not really matter. you may luck out every now and again and retain the order...

I would have thought that if the check constraint is checking for the same max length as the data type length then it is kind of pointless..

if you have instances then you will need to start sql browser (most likely you don't though)
