    Then reenter your passwords..

    check and see if it works.

    The auto update stats is enabled.

    So, I will run the t sql sp_updatestats from hte maintennace tasks and see how it goes..

    I dont have any idea about clustered scenario but

    I had the same problem a lot many times on my prod sql server.

    We had changed the passwords of hte sql agent...

    I am not running update stats with rebuild/reorganize.

    Iam just running update stats every weekend or once in two weeks.

    My auto shrink is OFF.

    After the backup log script , i had to manually shrink the log files thru SSMS(tasks-->shrink-->files), then the size got dereased

    I did backup log with truncate_only.

    If backup log doesnt change file size then why do people recommend to do it to decrease growing log file size.

    That 20 gb increase is just in 1 week,

    Also, you told that Backup log DOES NOT change file size?

    I did backup log on my database and it reduced 70...

    I know that once we restart sql server, the tempdb starts from scratch but

    I cant perform that as they are on my prod server.
