It seems that your inserts are over complicated but without more details about the tables and what you are trying...

You could shorten this slightly with ISNULL instead of a case expression.

ISNULL(Description1, [Description]) as [Description]

One other comment about your design. I would highly recommend you not use such generic primary key names as RowPointer and have that be the same name in each table....
