Do you have any firewall/acls set up that blocks UDP Port 1434??

It will eat up your output Buffer resource if I am not mistaken. PRINT Statements can be seen only on the SSMS window. So why keep it?

This looks more like a network issue. Maybe a badly configured Switch or network cards.
