    how to check SMPT authendication..?

    when you ran the wizard it asked you how you want to authenticate to the SMTP server, what did you select??

    when adding the SMTP account what authentication did you use?

    Windows

    Basic

    Anonymous

    Have you verified the SMTP server address is correct?

    What profile security did you select?

    The DBA exams do cover the DMVs, especially the session-related ones. Hence if you passed that exam you should know these DMVs.

    The restore job runs every 25 seconds.

    Hmm, Hours or Minutes are the only frequency options for a job schedule!!!

    can you post details of the backup, copy and restore...

    DMV will not work against the compatibility 80.
