And it can be slow and require additional space when compared to offline.
The advantage of course is that the table\indexes are still available during the rebuild operation.

synchronous database mirroring (high-performance mode) is supported only by Enterprise Edition
Asynchronous only is supported in Enterprise edition

SQL server 2008 R2 express edition can only participate in replication as a subscriber!
