    I've read that you can only have 1 distribution database per instance.

    A publisher will only use a single distribution database, if that's what you're referring too?

    yes it will have connect permission, it will also default to the public database role for access

    Thanks, it adds it to each database, but didn't grant any permission,

    But I guess it defaults to connect permission, that is just what the vendor product needs

    It will default...

    The publisher and the distributor are not firewalled between each other and are currently working together when it comes to replication.
