    this is the behaviour I have observed across SQL server 2012 and 2014. The listener is a VNN and VIP into the instance itself and not the availability group.

    Before you destroy the cluster and the instance don't forget to backup any objects you may want

    The listener is just a virtual network name and ip which through ssms will connect you straight to the primary replica\instance.

    You'll then see what your account grants you access to

    Sounds I like I need to break the C node down to a stand alone server and then add the node to the ALWAYS ON cluster.

    How many nodes...

    And that's exactly what I would expect it to do, you're connected to the primary instance and will see all databases available to you on that instance.

    What are you expecting...

    For some strange reason, when ever i connect to the Listener name for each AlwaysOn group, it list all the databases which is on the SQL instance, so i...

    I am looking for the easiest way of rebalancing data across multiple files.

    Instead of creating a secondary filegroup and then dropping and recreating all indexes in the database...

    I have an A & B node set up and running. I now want to add a C NODE.

    The catch is the C NODE is in a SQL...

    Drop the group and re create it, ensure you note the listener IP address and TCP port first so that you may rercreate it correctly to avoid permanently impacting user...

    Bear in mind, the server you restore to should be exactly the same (version, sp possibly even cu, but I'd not swear to that one) as your old...
