The Secondary is in Standby (Read Only) mode. My assumption is that a DB in Standby Mode from Log Shipping would cause an in place upgrade to fail.

There are 21 instances on 6 of the nodes and one node is passive.I came up with the following steps:
1. Shutdown the Passive Node.

you'll need to perform a DTC reset log, the syntax from a command prompt is
msdtc -resetlog
Then restart the msdtc clustered role
