Use a synonym, view, or dynamic SQL?

It might be a better plan to either store the parts of the names separately (e.g. prefix, suffix) or to do this sort of presentation work on the application responsible...

Could also happen if the table is in a read-only file or datbase, which has the same effect as read uncommitted but without the risks associated with concurrent page...
