I think the main problems comes from the fact that the string can only be 8000 characters long and that's hard to check while concatenating.

Ya don't do it. Make an sp for each required select in the application and you'll be much better off.

Well you just can't add () just after the select if it's not a derived table.

count(*)from should have a space. Bot other than that you should be alright (assuming no mathematical formula errors). Where's the problem exactly?

So it means something's corrupt. I'd strongly suggest reinstalling it as there might be some other problems that you haven't discovered yet.
