truncate should the the trick.
drop / recreate too.
2nd temp table.
row_number instead of identity.
The choices are many :w00t:.
Drop will cause recompiles which may or may not be an issue depending of...

That way you know exactly what's in the file.

We do have a copy of the production database, which barely fits on the DEV systems. But the DEV system I'm testing on only has 16GB of memory...

If for some odd reason you need to push this even way further you could consider add or changing the current index to add the filter deleted = 0.
