One of the things I like is that there are plenty of parameters that can be passed to taylor the process to your requirements/needs. You can, in the execution...

I wouldn't bother too much about something where's it's working fine.

I'd just make sure to not install too much stuff on the server so that ss is not competing with...

Here's the preffered way to send mail in sql server 2k5+

You can't upgrade straight. You'll need and intermediate step to go to sql 2000 or 2005, then you'll be able to move to 2008 R2.
